A Visit to the ENT

For the last year Leah has been waking up almost every night, most of them screaming and crying.  Many months ago I talked to a Pediatrician about the possibility of her huge tonsils being the reason.  He looked at me and said it was just a behavior issue (without even asking about behavior).  Knowing Leah and the fact that she has always been a great sleeper, I took the opportunity to ask another Pediatrician about it when I took her in for strep.  He took one look in her mouth and said "yep, she needs to get those out."  So here we are today at the ENT's office.  After waiting almost 2 hours to see him, he took one look and said "we need to schedule her for surgery."  She is most likely waking up at night because her HUGE tonsils block her airway and she momentarily stops breathing.  So we scheduled the surgery for mid May after preschool gets out.

Before the doctor left the room he asked if I had any questions for him.  Leah jumps in and says "I do!".  "What would you like to ask me?" He said.  She then asked "Why did it take you so long to see me?"  I quickly jumped in and told him that I did not tell her to say that!  (But I was glad she did!!)

Trying to entertain her in the waiting room
