Halloween!!

One of our favorite holidays is Halloween, we love getting dressed up and especially making our own costumes!  This year we decided to go with a theme...to be honest...Leah decided the theme for us.  She told us what everyone was going to be and then I had to figure out how to make all the costumes.  Leah was Ariel, Kenzie was Sebastian, Travis was King Tritan and I was "the evil witch."  It is always so comforting when you 4 year old says you are the evil witch!!  But I went with it and had fun.

This was actually Kenzie's first steps, she was trying to grab the camera!

We went to the trunk or treat at church and won "best costumes" and Leah even convinced her friend Ryder to go as her prince for Halloween!  Good thing his mom was willing to make his costume, they looked so cute together.

Leah is Getting More Daring

In our many hikes that we have done, we have tried multiple times to get Leah to touch a grasshopper.  She has never done it because she was always too scared to do it.  Today she comes walking in from the backyard and says "look what I caught!"  Yep, it's a grasshopper!

Pumpkin Patch

One of my favorite things to do this time of year is going to a pumpkin patch and picking out pumpkins to carve or paint.  This year we went to the pumpkin patch at the Pioneer Heritage Museum, it wasn't very big, but we still had fun and came home with pumpkins.  Leah took her friend Ryder and they had so much fun running around together in the corn maze, picking their pumpkins and then having a treat afterwards.

Kenzie had fun playing with all the pumpkins and I had fun taking her 1 year old pics.

Leah's Pet

Today Leah was playing in the backyard and came running inside begging me to come out and see her new pet.  She has been asking for a pet for a long time so I was a little nervous to find out what she caught, I figured it was either a snake or a scorpion, neither of which I wanted to see.  I was so relieved when she showed me that there was a bird in the fireplace and she had put the grate up to capture it!  I let her name it..."fluffy" and then we let it go.

Kenzie 1st Birthday

I can't believe Kenzie is already ONE year old!  Where has the time gone?  Kenzie is such a joy and she brings so much happiness into our home.  She is getting so close to walking and has a mouth full of teeth...at least her bottom teeth!  She still only has 2 top teeth and most of her bottom teeth, kind of funny.

We started the day at the park letting Kenzie do what she loves most...swing!

We went to Peter Piper Pizza for dinner and all of us got full on dessert pizza and then the girls got to play games and ride the merry-go-round multiple times.

We had a birthday party for Kenzie with some of our friends and she LOVED the cake and pretty much devoured it once she realized it was o.k. to eat it.

She was looking for an o.k. to dig in

licking the plate

Pretty proud of herself

It took her a little while to figure out how to open her presents...good thing Leah was there to help!
