Great Times

The last few weeks have been full of fun and adventure!

We went to MacDonald's Ranch with our friend Marti and were surprised at how much there was to do there.  Leah wanted to ride the horses over and over.  She only whined for a few minutes after leaving the horses until we made it to the petting zoo, then she was all smiles again.

She would have ridden the horses all day

Travis is such a cute cowboy!

It took Leah a little while before she would pet the animals

We were able to go to Utah for my family's annual Halloween party at the condo.  We have not been able to attend this event for many years and were happy to be able to be there this year.  We are so blessed to be able to live close enough to family to be able to pack up the car and drive to visit them.  We had such a fun time visiting both of our families and allowing Leah time to play with her cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents.

Travis and I did not dress up for Halloween this year, but that will not happen again!  I dressed up for a "girls only zombie party" that was one of the best girls nights I have been to.  Leah loved dressing up for Halloween as a princess and really enjoyed trick-or-treating.  She is one tough girl and was not scared of anyone or any of the decorations or "haunted places."  We love Halloween in Phoenix, the weather is great and instead of knocking on doors people sit in their driveways, socialize and hand out candy.

To top it off, here are a few random pictures from the month:

San Diego

Leah and I were lucky enough to be able to accompany Travis on a business trip to San Diego 2 weeks ago.  Travis took a few days off of work so we could enjoy an entire week there.  It was nice to be able to spend so much time together as a family just relaxing and having fun.  Leah and I spent two days at the San Diego Zoo while Travis having a blast sitting in meetings!  The elephants, gorillas, and turtles were Leah's favorite animals to watch.

Spa day for the elephant, she was having her nails done!

Leah's favorite animal to watch (we spent about 30 min watching this elephant)

The turtles were bigger than Leah

Petting zoo, Leah was frozen solid and would not move

This gorilla was very entertaining, he gave Leah a kiss through the glass.

We also spent a day at Sea World, Travis and I have not been there since we were little and this was Leah's first time there.  We did not realize how much it has changed, there are rides there now!  There were three rides that Leah was big enough to ride and we rode them over, and over, and over, and over!  She never got sick of them, we have always said that she is going to be our roller coaster rider.

Every time Leah looks at this picture she asks "where's his pants"

Leah's favorite ride, she loves to spin!

We loved seeing the Sea Lion, Shamu, and Dolphin shows.  The dolphins were Leah's favorite because their was a princess  It was a great day and we were so worn out we were all asleep by 9:00 that night.

We spent some time in Old San Diego, we ate at a great pizza place and visited the Mormon Battalion Museum.

Last, but not least, we spent every evening and all day Friday and Saturday at the beach.  It was such a relaxing way to end our vacation.

It's about time!

I know, it is about time I update our blog again.  I guess we have just been having too much fun for me to actually sit down and do this.

Travis and I began the month of August celebrating our 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY!  It is crazy to me that we have been married 10 years, that means I am old...right?  Well I don't feel old, so I must not be.  It has been a great 10 years and I am so blessed to have such an amazing husband.

In August we went camping at Lava River Cave near Flagstaff, AZ.  We hiked part of the mile-long lava tube cave, it took longer than planned because Leah was searching for Rex (from Toy Story) the entire time we were in there.  Leah loved the cave and had to walk the entire time and hold her own flashlight.

It was pretty rocky so Travis had to hold onto Leah most of the time

Favorite thing to do when camping, gathering fire wood

Just a fun story:  One day Leah decided to get dressed up to go running and she had to have the music, daddy's socks, and mommy's running shoes.  After getting all dressed up she informed us that she was going to run to Grammy's house.  She tells us weekly that she wants to see her grammys, papa, her cousins (she names them all) and aunts and uncles.  Here she is all dressed up and on her way to see Grammy.
